“Our world is at a turning point”as stated in "Reimagining Our Future Together: A New Social Contract for Education" by UNESCO in 2021,“Widening social and economic inequality, climate change, biodiversity loss, resource use that exceeds planetary boundaries, democratic backsliding and disruptive technological automation are the hallmarks of our current historical juncture." Education and research are critical to shaping more inclusive, more just, more equitable and more sustainable futures. As a community of international and comparative education, how might we engage with the transformation of education to address challenges raised up by ecological justice, digital revolution, industrial upgrading, demographic changes and geopolitics shift? Beijing Normal University invites education researchers, policy makers as well as practicers all over the world to join us in Oct 2024 in Beijing, China, to shed light on "Social Transformation and the Futures of Education".
